Little Rays was established in 1993 at it’s Queensway site by Michelle Rea. It was in 2004 that Kieron came on board and the LR family began to expand with nurseries in Ballymena (2004) and Moira (2006). In September 2011 LR opened Brownlee Playgroup situated in the grounds of Brownlee Primary School and from September 2012 we will open a playgroup with funded PEAGs places in the Moira nursery.
Whether it’s the Day Nursery or Playgroup facilities you want to avail of, our aim is to provide a homely, welcoming, safe and stimulating environment for children from 2 months – 12 years of age.

We have a fully trained, professional staff team, many of whom have worked in Little Rays since the mid 1990’s. All staff have current Child Protection Training and a high number also have Paediatric First Aid and Basic Food Hygiene training. Each nursery has its own Designated Child Protection Officers.
Outdoor play forms such an important part of a child’s development and Little Rays promotes this on a daily basis, weather permitting!! Our outdoor play areas are timetabled to ensure only one age group has the use of the facilities at any time. A wide range of outdoor equipment is available.
An experienced cook is on site in each nursery to provide a nutritious, home cooked 2 course meal. All meals are prepared and cooked fresh every day and no processed foods are served. Fresh fruit and vegetables are offered at daily snack times, along with fresh organic milk or water. All Little Rays nurseries have 5 stars awarded from their local Health Authority for hygiene.
Jo Jingles visits all our settings on a weekly basis which provides a varied and exciting music and movement experience for all the children.
